Spent a decent portion of the day talking to doctors and nurses about my dad's care plan going forward. I'm managing his appointments on top of his finances now too. It'll probably be a little tough at first, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Maybe I'll draw a comic about all this at some point...

Dad's getting discharged tomorrow! 🥹 He's recovered so well that the docs feel comfortable releasing him, and by all accounts he's been doing great with physical therapy, so that looks like it'll be a regular part of his week going forward.

Too exhausted to do anything but lay in bed and play the horse girl game

I said I'd be shutting off my brain for the weekend but this ordeal was EXPENSIVE so I'll probably be moving up my timeline for conbadge (and possibly other) commissions

Back home now. Dad's steadily improving and we got all his business handled. Shutting off my brain for the duration of the weekend.

He's in the step-down unit now, dealing with the antibiotics very well and has even felt good enough to sit up in bed and joke around. He has several weeks of physical therapy ahead of him, but I feel a lot better knowing he's surrounded by folks that will take care of him .

This has been a really hard time, but I'm thrilled that my dad is so loved by his family and friends. He is, as his former boss put it, "such a cutie".
