Finally a corporation is reacting to what’s happening here. Don’t be surprised that it’s not a car company or a shampoo brand. They’re all still pretending that life is normal.

It’s a bookstore.

Barnes and Noble fills their store display windows with Orwell’s 1984 and Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale.

Alexis! Two fatherhood book recs you may want to try. A warm and funny lit fic title about learning to be a β€œfather”: The Road to Tender Hearts, by Annie Hartnett. And if you like queer cozy fantasy, the tried and true Cerulean Chronicle trilogy, by TJ Klune. Enjoy!

Because they were called β€œhyper active,” β€œsp***ic,” and other such names (I won’t even bring up the words applied to kids who most likely would have been diagnosed with Autism). Mine? β€œSocial Butterfly,” and β€œdreamy.” He’s playing semantics.

YES! I picked Liars bc I have to wear cat sweaters for a mos if I lose & was sure the light of Margo would fail to beat the lit merit of dark –but I forgot TOB picks *people* judges. Dead-on writing and again, yes.

And look at that, I LOVED Liars!
The relentless repetition of deceit and disappointment was brilliant, and I don’t know what this says about me but I laughed. Bitterly maybe, but I laughed.

We are fighting like hell to stop Musk’s staffers. They come into our buildings, forcibly removing us with the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and police. This coup must be stopped.

I wish I knew a fix to keep legit journalism financially solvent, but other than signing up for subscriptions, or somehow getting social media to pay a fee (ha!), I don’t. Either way, many people can’t afford even one paper subscription – and for that reason, I hope other pubs follow Wired.

Aww, damnit. I’ve successfully put off reading Liars since its release –I felt like the NYT front page was/is painful-reading enough – but with two bracket wins, now I’ve got to. BTW, the texting-your-friends reason is why I (unsuccessfully) put my money on All Fours!

We are now finding bird flu in deer mice and house mice in Washington State.

H5N1 is advancing along the evolutionary ladderβ€”affecting birds, mammals, and humans. This is not speculation; it’s a timeline.
