With Pat Maroon’s impending retirement, I thought I would write about what he has meant to the #Blackhawks in a short time.
He’s meant a lot.

It’s the Eve before the 2025 trade deadline. It might be the calm before the storm for the #Blackhawks .
Here are my 10 thoughts before the deadline—- just thinking out loud

We’re one week away from the trade deadline.
Questions linger that will likely be answered in the offseason, but there are 3 questions I keep pondering.

Just like us, the #Blackhawks watched the 4 Nations Face-Off, and took some notes.
The tournament could bring another blueprint for their rebuild.

Good morning #Blackhawks fans! We're getting a little antsy during the break, so we put together a roundtable article discussing all things Blackhawks!
With input from @brookelofo.bsky.social, @jimbay-thw.bsky.social, our colleague Hunter & myself! #THW

Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️
In honor of Love Day, here is my annual “3 Players Blackhawks Fans Have Fallen in Love With This Season” story!
Which #Blackhawks player gets your vote?

Artyom Levshunov always carries a glass-half-full attitude. As shown at practice.
So, I wanted to look into how his mindset (& others) can correlate on ice for individual & team success in the future.

I get that. It has been hard to see a lot of good players get traded over the past few years.
Anders Sorensen described both Landon Slaggert & Ryan Donato’s games as being like “a dog on a bone”
I kept thinking their games looked similar against TBL.
Maybe, that’s something #Blackhawks are looking at come the trade deadline.

The success rate of a 7th-round pick recording 1+ NHL points is 18.8%.
Yet, Louis Crevier knew he would make the most of his opportunities, and he has.
His #Blackhawks season has been one of the best storylines.

This game seemed predictable.
#Blackhawks beat the red-hot Habs. Then, get smoked by a floundering NYR team, who were on a back-to-back, & whose goalie played his first game of the season.
Wonderful effort
The Bears finally beat the Pack!
Oliver Moore has had a short-handed opportunity in every game this tournament.
Would have been a huge tying goal for USA, but encouraging to see him create those chances.
Very good penalty killer

After researching Ilya Mikheyev the past few days, I noticed he was continually regarded throughout his career as the guy to help another guy.
His recent play proves he can help himself just as much.

Merry Christmas, #Blackhawks fans!
Hope you are all enjoying your holiday season with loved ones!🎄
That was a WIN! CHI has always been capable of beating the best & continues to show that.
Ilya Mikheyev has been a driving force in their last two wins- Scored the opening goal against the Isles & that short-handed goal against the Caps.
Also Donato- Insane!!! #Blackhawks
Frank Nazar has such great hockey IQ.
Really smart plays. Passes are right on the money, too.
Fun to see!
#Blackhawks
Teuvo Teravainen went from talking about his lack of confidence last month, to sounding encouraged after his big game against the Isles.
Hopefully, it continues tonight against the Capitals.

The #Blackhawks penalty kill has been the best aspect of their team this season.
Saved their butts in the third period, and allowed Connor Bedard to get that winning goal with 54 seconds left.
HUGE. Big win for them.
Feel like it has been a while since we have been able to say Teuvo Teravainen had a good period.
And now we can finally say it!
2 assists so far today.
That’s the way!
#Blackhawks
Dinner-time content!
The #Blackhawks are finally getting the player they expected when they signed Tyler Bertuzzi
And that is very encouraging!

I will take that messy and entertaining-type hockey game all day!
That performance wasn’t as beautiful as the Mona Lisa, but dang it, it’s a #Blackhawks win!
Great effort & first NHL win for Anders Sorensen! Team did everything he asked of them. 👏
Yay for Kevin Korchinski to get recalled- missed watching him play! Happy to see him back for a bit, and looking forward to seeing his development.
I really hope Drew Commesso succeeds as the backup, too. Tall task for him, but it’s an opportunity!
#Blackhawks
First period jump wore off quickly. Lots of kinks for the new coach to iron out, as expected.
Those last 2 periods were just really bad hockey. But again, it didn’t have to be that way. They had the lead at one point.
Is what it is.
#Blackhawks
Well… at least the game is tied, and the Jets are not leading 3-2 because they missed the open net earlier.
It’s the little things. But this second period is not it. #Blackhawks
I really hope Petr Mrazek is okay.
The #Blackhawks had every reason to get rattled with Mrazek leaving the game.
But they didn’t. Shows the confidence in themselves and Soderblom in this game.
Even got a 2-1 lead. Like the response. Hope it lasts!
I cannot believe I’m actually counting down the minutes to this game.
Considering the #Blackhawks should have won their last WPG game, I think they’ll be looking for redemption.
Also looking forward to seeing if they play with more “tempo”, that Sorensen mentioned yesterday.
Here’s how I see it, if things still don’t change/improve with the coaching move, and if the draft picks don’t pan out, then you have to look at the GM next.
The #Blackhawks made the decision to fire head coach Luke Richardson.
Now cones the real challenge of moving this team forward. Somehow, someway.
@chihockeynow.bsky.social
chicagohockeynow.com/2024/12/06/t...
I am in literal shock. I didn’t think the team would fire Luke Richardson.
However, this is the correct move. The #Blackhawks said the aim was for the team to move forward this season, and it wasn’t happening.
But Richardson seems like a great human, and I wish him all the best.
Quiet crowds. Limited local television. Fan indifference. Last place in the NHL.
This is getting pretty bleak.
