hiatus over hi i will be at villainscon hosting a workshop on november 1st
— biggest tip: add anything you’ll need for your own accessibility.
ex. I dehydrate easy, so I have a hidden slot for a straw that’s styled to look like part of my paneling at the bottom of the mask
-- blue upholstery foam feels best for padding imo, you can find this at most craft stores
-- i work mainly with hard hair instead of wigs but damekigurumi.com/Blog/Guides/... was the first wig tutorial i read when starting the hobby, and it's very thorough!
-- for more air: making the eyes out of pvc fan mesh and sublimating the eye pattern on it will give you more vision + if you aim a fan at the eyes you'll feel the air directly on your face. if you want fans, leave a bit of room at the top or back for them. have at least one blowing old air out

-- if you're adding locks the type you'll be looking for is a case catch latch, they come with keys + the screws needed (sometimes under jewelry box/suitcase hardware)
-- M4x60 cabinet screws are typically used for the top hinge but you can find them in shorter sizes if they're too long

-- half mask (face plate attached by elastic bands with regular wig over it) + 3/4th masks are easier to start with if a full back mask is a little rough. swift is a 3/4th style

there’s enough cushioning inside I don’t really feel it when I’m just walking around or sitting down, but if one of the ponytails bumps into a doorway or something I Do feel all 3.75 of those pounds at once
