Heading into Day 2 of the Writing Heights Writers Retreat! Slept like garbage, but got in 1500 words last night!

Utah #BannedBooks Pt2:
Despite the law implying “local control,” if any district adds a book to the list, it’s removed from ALL districts. Twoschool districts account for 80% of the banned titles.

Utah has added “Water For Elephants” to their #BannedBook list. Their draconian law allows anyone to object to a title and have it prohibited from libraries and schools. Pt. 1

I really like his videos! Some miss the mark, but I’ve learned some great tips from him.

What sort? Have any comps for your horror-romance idea? I love a good gothic horror novel

It was suggested in our writing sprint tonight, we bring back public square stocks to throw tomatoes at horrible podcasters. Quality idea. Favorite quote, “At least those stocks won’t crash” - Molli

I fell into the same rut with idea-procrastination and it helped to just let it go and get back to writing. Saw a quote from Brandon Sanderson’s lecture series, something like “ideas are cheap, the writer is what makes it great,” that took the pressure off for me. I hope that helps 🙃

But what about the middle bits? Could be funny telling a story only through a prologue and epilogue through 😂

Sent my first 7 chapters off to my beta reader. Two left to write to finish part one of the novel. Anyone else want to run off to Alaska and go into hiding once you’ve let someone else take a gander at your WIP??

I believe it means to put them in the crosshairs. They’re the target, but it doesn’t imply that they’re shot… not yet at least.
