I've lost two Retrograde fountain pen caps today, and I'm thinking it's time to either redesign or scrap the entire design and focus on new work, bringing what I've learned from it forward.

Childhood trauma and neglect will really have you out here as a whole grown adult wondering why everyone is making a huge deal out of something very major you've accomplished when your parents would have just been like "oh that's cool" and gone back to their own things.

Which is why Pen World interviewed me; I am so far outside of the usual pen industry boxes that I'm having to define my own, and that's interesting to read about when someone does it successfully.

A collab with a big brand would possibly benefit both of us, once I get more established.

So that's the really cool thing about what I do: I'm not in competition with the big brands. We have totally different primary markets, totally different styles, totally different approaches and focuses. I'm not really even in competition with other indie makers because what I do is so unusual.

They can top that, and consistently, I figure. At volume. But I'm a creative little gremlin.

If they wanted to collab, I'd totally be open to it...

They do cover the international pen trade, plus stationary, shows, news, etc. Very fitting title.
