I wonder if opinions will shift if fuel rationing kicks in - which if I'm understanding the magnitude of the supply shock, can't be ruled out.

In all honesty - and I'm not being a smug conservationist here - major cities should be deploying emergency bike lanes immediately. Safe, separated ones, as part of interconnected networks.

This is a national defense priority - we need to reduce fuel consumption immediately.

It definitely looks like a bit of a push poll, at least at first glance, due to its exclusion of oneBC. Although again they don't really disagree with cons on anything, so I think they'll just collapse into each other making this polling choice reasonable

This one is becoming a top-of-the-fold story that seems to be sticking in a fundamentally different way

Imo for the right it's a ratchet. Just keep tightening and the center right will fall in line.

This reconciliation panic is a unique political beast that is being very effectively exploited. They've tried a few panics (vaccines, ostriches, digital ID) but those only intensely appeal to small groups

I actually think that's defensible. I think OneBC will just fold back into the cons at some point - or maybe the cons fold into one BC. They seem to basically agree on most things.

Either way there will be consolidation on the right

It's very disturbing that BC polls are swinging so heavily due in part to a moral panic about reconciliation

I've been burned too many times by being impressed by various superstars who turn out to be disappointments.

To that end, my current answer to this is: "the invisible public servant whose regulatory compliance work reduces *bad thing* by *some percentage*"

This fundamental truth is why all those "ha ha what's better? Gas or EV? MAYBE GAS HMM" analyses are such nonsense

And the same logic holds across basically all non-emitting technologies

The fact that we have 8 months before the winter heating season kicks in means we have time to prepare better. Electrify everything we can, make gas more efficient where we can't electrify, put solar on every bloody roof out there, cut taxes on electricity, and above all, unleash the flexibility

Canadians need to be extremely vigilant for false flag terrorist attacks right now.

The information environment is worse than it's ever been. If something happens, the first conclusion we are expected to support may not be the right one.

The poison oil cloud above Tehran right now - for which there is no end in sight - may be one of the most horrifying things I've seen on TV

There's something deeply obscene and broken about the fact that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are bombing elementary schools in an illegal war of aggression, and there's still a sense among the opposition that it has to be explained in terms of gas prices in order to get American voters to care.

Once again I beg people to think for two seconds about how they use this Star Trek reference.

The whole point was that resistance is NOT futile. That catchphrase was hubris. The Borg were defeated repeatedly.

Experts slam B.C. moving to Daylight Time for good Not everyone is on board after the provincial government announced B.C. would be changing its clocks for the last time this weekend.

Some people are getting upset that the new time zone extends light into the evening. But imo virtually everything rewards early risers.

I'm glad to see someone finally throw us night owls a bone!

Many Americans hold contradictory opinions on the same policies Our new poll finds question wording can swing opinion by 20+ points on immigration, the budget, and transgender rights. That's a problem for people who use polls to tell politicians what voters want.

That's a problem for people who interpret polls for a living.
