A large orange road sign reading "two left lane closed 1/2 mile ahead" sits blocking a sidewalk. A bus stop sign is visible behind.

As if it's not hard enough already to walk on Buford Highway, this construction sign in Chamblee is blocking the whole sidewalk and partially blocking the MARTA bus stop. Luckily somebody walking by shoved it to the side so there's a bit more space now. #walkability

A flyer showing two pictures, a before with a 4 lane road, and a rendering of after showing one general purpose lane transformed into a protected bike lane. It reads:
West Peachtree Street from Linden Ave to 11th St:

Under construction beginning March 2026*

A before/after view of changes being implemented on West Peachtree near 3rd Street

Retain existing one-way traffic

operation

Add a protected one-way bike lane

by repurposing one travel lane and several on-street parking spaces

β€’ Resurface West Peachtree St

β€’ Provide bus stop enhancements, signal modifications, and ADA upgrades throughout the corridor

β€’ Make spot pavement repairs

Fresh off the opening of the Juniper bike lane, the West Peachtree protected bike lane is also starting construction this month?! What an exciting time for cycling in Midtown. #Atlanta #cycling #urbanism

A post from Midtown Alliance announcing that the Juniper Street bike lanes are officially open from 14th street to Ponce de Leon.

Pardon my language but holy shit I thought I'd be dead before the Juniper street protected bike lane finally opened. #Atlanta #cycling #urbanism

Photo from high up in a building looking down on mostly small buildings. In the background is the Coca-Cola headquarters and the Georgia Dome.

I took this picture from One Atlantic Center in 2012. It's wild how completely unrecognizable Midtown is. #Atlanta

Screens at this MARTA station are just stuck on this one image. Le sigh. #transit #MARTA

The executive branch is destroyed for a generation. There's no easy way to build back after what's happening and continues to happen.

Yeah I can see that. I like it because even though the design seems basic, Atlanta doesn't have a tall skinny residential box like this yet. The design stands out here, while it would be a dime a dozen in Toronto or Chicago.

If you, like me are furious about the #Atlanta illegal change for the beltline eastside rail, consider emailing a few of these folks, like I did this morning. We need to let them know this is not okay. List with email address and some phone numbers: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Family talks about man killed by fleeing car in DeKalb County A pedestrian was killed Thursday night after being struck by a fleeing vehicle during a police pursuit in DeKalb County, authorities said.

Police chases should be outlawed. This man is dead because the Georgia State Patrol initiated a high speed chase through a residential Atlanta neighborhood. People shouldn't have to fear for their lives when crossing the street.

A panoramic view of the Midtown Atlanta skyline from Piedmont Park. It is winter. The grass is yellow-brown. The sky is bright blue with no clouds.

Another gorgeous day in Midtown Atlanta. #PiedmontPark #Atlanta

A digital flyer reading:
PEACHTREE IS READY ATLANTA MUST ACT

Join us to demand the raised crosswalk at 225 Peachtree Street

Wednesday, Feb. 11
12 PM
Near 225 Peachtree, downtown

I missed this event the other day (weekday mid-day) but let's keep the pressure on to improve Peachtree Street in downtown #Atlanta. The funding and programming are already in place. The mayor and DOT need to act now. #urbanism

A black and white aerial photo of a neighborhood being bulldozed for an interstate.

Interstate construction destroyed neighborhoods across our country. This is Stockton California, where Filipino communities were particularly affected. From the National Museum of American History. #urbanism

A street sign with a bicycle that reads "green wave" and "signals set for 12mph"

Traffic signals set to bicycle speeds? Excellent. #cycling #DC

A cycle track with snow on the edges. It's a sunny day. Low rise apartment building in the background.

In DC and the bike lanes are... mostly cleared. Saw a few brave souls enduring the cold weather on bike share. Also the snow is rock hard. #cycling #DC

A screen in s transit station that has scrolling information that block upcoming train times

The MARTA screens are dumb. The scrolling alerts block upcoming train times. This screen isn't even showing the next train arrival, this Doraville train is the second one coming. The number one thing a screen in the station should show is upcoming trains. #MARTA can you fix this? #transit #Atlanta

A screenshot of a Facebook post from councilman Jason Dozier reading:
Hey all! Now that I represent a portion of Midtown, I wanted to be sure to share the latest on what I'm tracking pertaining to the Juniper Street project.

As you all are aware, we have a major DWM project requiring a full closure at 10th Street that will last for approximately two more weeks. In the meantime, Georgia Power has completed the final signal connection, and the City will begin signal inspections next week, starting at Ponce and moving north. As inspections are completed, sections of the bike lanes will reopen. All bike lanes are expected to be fully open within the next 7 to 10 days.

Will pass along more information as I receive it.

Yoooooo, Juniper street protected bike lane opening in the next week or so! #cycling #Atlanta
