Lunar New Year🐍🌕✨Year of the Wood Snake🌿

A spirit creature looks back pondering their past experiences. They glide through a glade of trees, grasses, and strange dragon flies.

On the left is the last picture I did of 2024, on the right if the first picture I did of 2025.

Looking Back. An experiment with the sugar cane pulp paper, this time with a dip pen in walnut ink, then a brush with watered walnut ink for shading and background. This was the first piece of the new year.

Stuff used: Hahnemuehle sugar cane pulp paper, Beam Paints watercolor paints, and black India ink that the label has come off of, so I'm not sure on the brand for that one.

On the left is a spirit representing the cold wind of winter, on the right is a spirit representing the sharp noise that breaks the silence of winter (holding a large bell). A flurry of snow follows them both.

On the left is the last picture I did of 2024, on the right if the first picture I did of 2025.

Cold Wind And Silence Interrupted. A small doodle I did at the end of 2024, an experiment with dipping paper in my (mostly evaporated) pigment sediment saturated water cup. I wanted a way to reuse it, and I kinda like how this turned out. The second image has the first doodle of the year with it.

This is just a little something I've been doing between other projects just for fun. It's nice to have something I can practice with without taking it too seriously. Though... I did go overboard on the striped suit, that's all by hand and MAN was that a pain... but worth it!

McMurphy: Would you get it over with? Panel five is a close up of Benny's suit with Benny pulling something from the inside of his suit jack. Benny: Maybe Khans kill people without looking them in the face, but I ain't a fink, dig? Panel six shows McMurphy, Jessup and Benny standing together looking down at the courier. McMurphy is aggravated while Jessup looks like he's scheming. Benny holds up the platinum chip while talking. Benny: You've made your last delivery kid.

Panel one is zoomed in on Benny's suit as he pulls a gun from his suit jacket. Panel two is a close view of Benny's hand as he holds up his gun Maria. Benny: Sorry you got twisted up in this scene. Panel three shows Benny looking down at the courier (who is off panel) while talking. the moon is seen behind him. Benny: From where you're kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Panel four is a close view of the courier's face, who is very angry. Benny: Truth is... Panel five shows Benny pointing his gun at the view, which is the couriers point of view in this panel. Benny: The game was rigged from the start.

The courier, Bolden, is shot, the force knocking them backwards and off their knees. The moon and the Lucky 38 can be seen in the distance.

(This is a tag for violence, like, 80's/90's action movie violence. So you've been warned.) It's my birthday so I thought I'd post something self indulgent, the intro to Fallout New Vegas in comic format (with my courier, Bolden).
