Growth slows as quickly as it exploded, as the global economy adjusts to the destruction of the middle class in advanced economies. A temporary reset. But one that further consolidates wealth at the top. G7 countries that bled people & allowed corporations to become as powerful as countries rethink.
However, the transition will be horrific. Leading governments waving through new tech without regulation in the name of growth. It’ll lead to so much automation that it’ll upend society like not seen since advent of The Ice Age. GDP growth initially explodes, while people go cold & hungry.
Jobs will be lost on a scale never seen. BUT, they’ll be replaced with the most meaningful jobs ever held. Fuelled by individual passion & having meaningful output for the worker. I feared AI might make us dumb & irrelevant. I now realise that it provokes, inspires & creates new curiosity & skills.
The good news? LLMs are just repackaging our ideas. Genuine new, insightful & human new ideas, it can’t replace. We have them all the time. It’s what defines us & brought AI about. Historically 99.9999% never materialised for various reasons. Now, maybe 99% will, thanks to AI assistance.
It removes the barriers & costs to all our good ideas playing out. Of course, many people will ask AI for a ‘niche moneymaker.’ Do it, it comes up with some amazing stuff. Sadly, it’s all bollocks. The AI itself is best positioned to deliver these ideas. The owners profit.
Is AI worth the hype now? YES! (But not why most people think)
Is next week’s AI worth the hype!? Also YES. But again most only see a threat, when the opportunity is genuinely the stuff of dreams.
My observation is that I’ve had to course correct, rein in & sometimes completely oppose suggestions. Of course, the AIs always agree that you’re correct. I’m impressed by the tech. But logic, reasoning and understanding aren’t its forté v human expertise or lived experience.
Notes of caution. They blow smoke up your arse constantly. You constantly need to remind them that you want a critical guide, not a nodding dog. If you constantly challenge in this way you’ll refine your plans & get better output.
I’m using premium, paid AIs to develop my idea. Insight from contacts that I have access to would still take 12 months to obtain. AI - 3 days. Just asking the right questions. These will still be corroborated with real people. But, it’s already an expert in my field to 90% This inspires confidence.
Execution of great ideas that can change the world have been gate-kept by those of means & time for too long. Diving in to this world has given me a surprising & comforting perspective.

Had to get our 18yo cat put to sleep yesterday. No one tells you how hard it is to be the one taking the decision to end your pet’s life, even when it’s for the best. My lad held her in his arms as she fell asleep. She will be missed so much.
Best Father’s Day ever. The unbelievable level of chat I’ve had tonight with my 15 & 12 year olds have me bursting with pride. Be suspicious of anyone who says you can be a parent or a friend to your kids, not both. They’re either a shit parent, or have shit kids.
I never ever drink through the week, but last Wednesday had me hyped so much that I couldn’t sleep till 4am. Bottle of red wine tonight & I reckon I might get to sleep at 3. Strap in.
People need to remember that this is the beginning. Like the shite graphics of Lara Croft that sad wank boys used to get off on. The next phase is the most disruptive humanity has ever seen. Humanoid robots already exist, though relatively brainless.
In a spectacular display of how messed up the world is, our Papa Johns’s pizza was just delivered by the Italian guy whose restaurant recently closed after 30 years.
But there is no better feeling than turning that alarm off & rolling over back to sleep.
I live in the UK & my kids learn this in school. My generation was brought up with fear & suspicion of these groups. Most learnt that our upbringing was wrong, through contact with the real world. My kids would look at me as a fossil if I didn’t share their tolerance & understanding.
Reconnected with an old mate/colleague tonight. Not spoken in 12 years. Absolutely magnificent stuff that the conversation was dominated by talk of the pride in our kids. Love it.

Absolutely not worth a second of serious consideration. Like any threat against NATO. Hollow, delusional & stirring the domestic audience. Even the suggestion that UK needs air defence is fanciful. The fact that we don’t have it means that he won’t do shit. He knows that’s a bridge too far.
The ‘they’ is an independent panel. As it was in the previous cases. That said, the risk comes from the evidence the PL present, but that looks as cut & dried as a puppy next to a poo. We’ve all seen it.
