Sometimes less is more and Kirby is like the poster child of this design philosophy. It's ridiculous how simplistic his design is and he has by far my most favorite development legend.

"But this placeholder puffball looks so cute, do we really have to swap it?"

Oh, yes, it holds up great. Actually, now that I look at it, it looks like one of the smoothest 3D games I've seen on PS1, there's very little of that signature "PS1 pixelation". I wonder if it's because of extreme stylization or they just didn't push the console that far this early in its lifespan.

I won't be seeing it in theaters, but I do want to give them benefit of doubt. Sonic movies did this neat thing where they put some epic and, honestly, quite spoilery elements in the trailers… but keep the really good and memorable emotional moments secret.
MAYBE, just maybe there's a bit of it.

The skeptic in me doubts the movie itself is any more engaging, at least story-wise, than the first one. So they're cranking the marketing machine into overdrive to make sure they have a bigger box office than the last time.
I feel like Galaxy movie is more heavily advertised than the first.

I'm not overly excited or hopeful for the Galaxy movie (I really don't expect a better story than the first movie), but this. This managed to actually surprise me. Brilliant.

Man, PS1 aesthetics is something else. Great and memorable stuff comes from limitations and it's downright bizarre how you can just tell with a lot of PS1 games which system they come from no matter the genre.
