Termite-people waiting expectantly, now in color. The termite kingdom awaits as I continue to chip away at Those That Inherit the Earth
I would like to thank @secondatbest.bsky.social for this great Mom text today that I will be saying at my cats for the rest if the week
I’ll be randomly giving the original border illustrations away to four patrons on the paid tiers of my patreon (though the print tier subscribers are much more likely to win)

Thank you Goran! I want to do a western story so badly this is me trying to figure out what it would be

I might be able to help! I’m shipping stuff out weekly already, what’s a few more
Traveling begins once again, come visit wherever happens to be in your neighborhood and say hi, get books, prints, etc. etc.
This month’s riso print, an homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing - my favorite film (right next to Big Trouble in Little China)
my very first “published” work was in The Thing Artbook way back in 2017 - here’s the (very dated) piece featured in there
If you want one of the riso prints for yourself join up on the riso print tier on patreon.com/secondatbest, or pay full price for one from www.secondatbestpress.com

Color test for the riso print club this month. I wonder what sort of thing the theme is this time… Looking like a five color print this time, (much to my chagrin) but I do want to get that fleshy color just right.
Today's my birthday.
If you'd like to help me celebrate, maybe try one of my books, currently on sale! (no shipping to the US, work your shit out)
Serialized, weirdo, slice-of-life scifi for discerning readers.
Or, if you've read the comics, say something nice about them, I always like that.
The Council of Frogs is back with a third printing, now with the original short comic it started as included. And even better, you can order it direct from your local comic shop!
Yes! In Memphis right? Haha it’s a demographic I didn’t know existed but I sure am glad it does. Thanks again for picking up the books!
FOC is Feb 16th, I’m not sure how this works honestly, but if you’re into a story about a frog on a quest filled with warlocks, witches, liches and creatures, it might be worth letting your lcs know

The Amber Tree, this month’s riso print
I’ve always had a love for amber fossils, so this one was a great excuse to do a bit more reading on the prehistoric insects preserved within and trees that were responsible.
Very late to seeing this, but that’s not too much to say at all! It means the world to hear that, I can’t thank you enough
And lastly, this is the piece of fossilized amber my wife gifted me last year that got this idea started! It’s tucked away somewhere on the border too, but more importantly can anyone help identify the insect in there? I desperately want to know
Don’t forget to join up on my riso print subscription to weigh in on future month’s themes, and get a print for less than on my site! Or if you want to pay full price just head to

This week I reduced my nightstand’s reading pile a bit by catching up with a few of my favorite cartoonists.
You can find them here at:
@decassette.bsky.social
@aaronlosty.bsky.social
@secondatbest.bsky.social
All three are truly exceptional storytellers and I hope to read more from them soon
Thanks so much Joseph! I appreciate you sticking around, and glad you enjoyed the books
The Winter King is back! If you missed out on the riso edition, the second edition offset printing is here. This is probably my favorite sequence in the book, where a parade of ghosts gathers a few new members.
I’ll be shipping out preorders later this week, thanks everyone who already grabbed one!
Thank you!
