Trying to write a draft for a fandom that you haven't been in since three years is a humbling experience

Everytime I question my choice I ask myself why I gave that smoking/drinking trait to a character
"Either as flavor or as a fault"
Do I need THAT flavor as a real human being?
Do I need to assign myself the nth trait that I dislike about myself?

And the answer is no

I've always liked to give my characters bad habits like smoking or drinking, but the new development is that I've been straightedge since the 1st of January
