Great find! Critical to split the base up.
Also, you can sample the new Polya (containing single problem-solving lessons) and Escapes sections (containing activities not directly related to the curriculum, but still mathematical and fun).
Just email me if you want to set up an account:

Hi Rob
You can now sign up your school to a free account on Maths Advance. There are 1500 challenge questions all mapped to the curriculum - but they go well beyond other resources in terms of problem-solving.
A big part of the barrier is practical. If you want to move forward with problem-solving, Maths Advance can help provide you with an infrastructure across the curriculum.

Four blue squares. One red triangle.
What is the area of the red triangle?
Let that be lesson to me as to the pitfalls of posting late on when sleep is more urgent. Calling triangles squares, and not giving enough information to solve the question! New post coming.

Letβs make high-quality problem-solving accessible to all.
A case of status quo bias? The preference for the current state of affairs, leading individuals to resist change even when new options offer improvements.
Whilst many gladly accepted an offer of free access to Maths Advance, others did not respond. It was a genuine offer...just message me. #maths
Do people set summer holiday work for their lower/middle school cohorts? Would anyone like summer challenge booklets for different year groups?

So the 'a' is just a digit, and yes the point is a decimal point.

In #MathsToday, again with year 10, we were discussing algebraic and other approaches to finding the digit 'a'.
Year 10 Mathletics at lunchtime. These learners have signed up to spend their own time answering - or trying to in the case of the Collatz Conjecture - unusual and challenging questions. 35 minutes very well spent.

And now @mathsadvance.bsky.social is challenging all of us to be in the learner's shows and gets us all to really struggle on the Maths. #MathsConf37
