TODAY'S THE DAY
Scrolling through instagram it appears the river dying in Chicago is a pilgrimage site for a good 20% of the people my age I knew growing up.
I think you'd be more likely to be vomited on if it were like 3pm. That being said if you're taking your baby with you, I can absolutely understand driving
By 11am it should be calmed down, id say the bus should be fine, but if it works taking the MED to a bus might be a bit smoother.
There is some amount of truth to it given we're still 3+ weeks until any shortage hits the US. I attribute a fair bit of it to people panic buying gas, just like toilet paper and just like gas on the east coast during the colonial pipeline shut down.
TIL theres a bike lane there now. Incredible work tho CDOT
New york city
Anyone here have experience with apple app store ads? I have a campaign with a target of $0.80 per click and they still haven't served it to anyone. Is this their way of telling me to up my budget or fuck off?
Ah ok yes. NGL for a second I thought they were using an AI/MLM TTS and went *what*
Is it not the standard TTS voice that they use for train announcements?
Im pretty sure the old gates also didnt comply due to a lack of a gap between the bottom and the floor
$3.8 trillion company BTW
The news has been so crazy lately I genuinely forgot we're in a partial shutdown right now.
Yeah thats definitely padding built in but come on guys.
Oh my god I didn't even notice that
lmao nice css youtube
I somewhat doubt that given its to 111th specifically. I think Metra is wanting to take an axe to the timeliness of trains sunday but also directly serve the parade
I'm not sure what is in the vents at 547 W Jackson but the scheduling department thinks it is possible to go from 35th st to 103rd/beverly in 6 minutes. That would require an *average* speed of 97mph. I like the ambition, but we are not achieving those figures.
What is it with the CTA just stopping ridership reports every once in a while? If they kept on schedule we'd be seeing February figures drop this week, yet we don't even have December.
BW regional trains are moving away from TPTO to three and four person crews.

This has to be a data processing error, right? Like thats totally meant to be ORD, not Ord lol

I need a car for work and I'm glad I was smart and got a hybrid. V8cels coping and seething
Slightly foggy morning. In Wabtec we trust.
tf happened
ORD 2025 final numbers: 3rd place for passengers. Growth slowed slightly in the final two months, and DFW pulled back ahead into 2nd. ~808k difference between the airports. Wow.
The contraption™ is currently active at soldier field
NGL I haven't been following the senate race that closely. Who is your preferred vs strategic best?
Nah, though CHIP and CREATE seem to be somewhat parallel projects that complement eachother here and there
Some interesting things I have learned:
- EW2A (Belt junction reconfig) is funded already)
- This grant application is for P2 specifically
- if funding is approved, construction will begin in mid 2028 and end in late 2033
- design is estimated to be approved in q2 of next year
