I like the OP's intent, but the analogy implies way to much even-handedness and good intent (and I don't think they meant to be positive about it).

The reality is these companies are farming you and everyone you know for EVERYTHING about you, every second of your life.

Yeah, only the stuff before the question mark is your link, everything else is so they can track both you and anyone you share it with and build a web of people you interact with online.

Did you know that any website with a "share to facebook" link ANYWHERE ON THE PAGE, regardless of if you click it, sends a little ping to facebook/meta that assigns you a unique identifier to track your activity across said website?

Any page that link loads on is a spy camera watching you move.

Even before twitter died, it was tracking how long you'd have a post visible on your screen before you scrolled down & used that to build a profile of what to inject into your feed for maximal retention time.

And they have absolutely nothing on how much anything related to google stalks you.

Considering that most of them install a slew of tracking cookies and other spyware on your device to collect as much data on your as possible, it's more like you speak to someone once and they stalk and collect data on your and your entire family for the next 6 months.
