Weโre excited to announce the opening of the Geneva Expansion Microscopy Facility (GenExM)!
GenExM is a full-service U-ExM platform (U-ExM, Cryo-ExM, iU-ExM), delivering nanoscale imaging.
Led by Dr. Olivier Mercey, GenExM welcomes academic & industrial collaborations.

This work illustrates the importance of Rab11 membranes rewiring in response to viral stress, and the key role of PI3P/PI4P turnover in membrane reprogramming during cellular hijacking by the Influenza virus
huge congrats to @carlaalemany.bsky.social & @julianedagraca.bsky.social and collaborators!

(again!) new publication for @membramics-lab.bsky.social, by @carlaalemany.bsky.social & @julianedagraca.bsky.social
in collaboration with N Naffakh & JB Brault, we show that Influenza virus triggers an ATG16L1/Rab11 PI4P response at ER membrane for viral export

In details, we show that upon starvation, EERCS transiently stabilize at the omegasomal membrane and ER-exit sites, promoting local Caยฒโบ release and phase transition. Within EERCS confined interspace, Rab3A nanovesicles undergo homo-fusion, mediated by RAB3GAP, driving proto-phagophore assembly.

New publication by @julianedagraca.bsky.social @membramics-lab.bsky.social
We show that ERโendosome contact sites (EERCS) are essential for autophagosome biogenesis by creating a specialized environment in response to starvation.
