The silly voices are the best bits! Not sure if the kids enjoy it as much as the grown-ups doing the voices, but we’re living our best lives with those stories 😂

I’m forever rabbiting on about the Knight Sir Louis series by the Brothers McLeod, Donut Squad by Neill Cameron and the Grimwood series by Nadia Shireen for their sheer joy, originality and ultimate daftness. Huge favourites in our house!

It’s appreciated! As a parent it can be really hard to find great recommendations for children’s books so you’re doing great work!

…because it really doesn’t happen in practice. I really feel for the brilliant authors whose books never see marketing spend, or promotion opportunities afforded to celeb authors and that’s why I think we need to shout about non-celeb books to redress the balance.

For me, the issue lies more with the industry than with celebs. Management companies see books (and kids’ books in particular) as an easy ‘product’ to add to a celeb’s portfolio, while publishers see an easy sell. The ‘trickle-down’ excuse to non-celeb authors is the worst kind of gaslighting…

Watching the Peppa Pig movie with my daughter in a cinema full of families. A dad sitting behind us answered the characters on screen back every time they told the audience to join in: ‘Get stuffed, pig!” “No, I won’t!” “You can’t make me!”
It just got funnier and became the highlight of the show!

What a total nightmare! They should be made legally accountable for fraud. Wishing you open doors and brighter roads ahead.

So Unbound scams authors out of their royalties, cancels books, steals supporter money for cancelled projects, bankrupts itself and reopens as Boundless, bullies authors to stay quiet about their owed money and now is ceasing trading today… and they’re not being prosecuted for fraud?
