Y'all, I need to start a YA novel for school soon. Should I go with post/apocalyptic or kidnapped horror?

Having mixed feelings about this term. I'm fine with my classes, but tomorrow is February and I haven't done anything, essentially, in any of them? I shouldn't complain, but it feels weird.

Finished some suggested edits from my prof and peers on this memoir piece, and added over 1200 words. Feeling quite ✨literary✨ about it.

I need someone to tell me it’s going to be okay. That there’s still a future for HUMAN WRITERS. Because now I’m finding job postings for “AI Content Writers” and I’m questioning why I’m paying for an education for something that’s about to be replaced by an algorithm.

Bruh, why is making a banner for this site super convoluted? I just spent like an hour slightly adjusting sizes and testing them. And it's still not great.

I realized that I'm only waiting to hear back from one lit mag right now. I should probably change that.

My next publication goal was to have my work included in a lit mag's issue, not just as a feature (even though those rock, too). My fave lil mag @litmoralitmag.bsky.social is about to fulfill this for me! Can't wait! 😍🦅🔪

I didn't do any novel planning today, but I did grade 8 essays and read & recommended a short story for publication, if that counts.

When you're planning your novel and a non-character becomes the potential antagonist. 🫢

Naming characters is my absolute favourite writing thing.

The novel I'm planning for NaNoWriMo is a really old idea, and going through old notes and reacquainting myself with little forgotten details makes me so happy.
