Hauyne is a sex worker and their relationship with Idaeus starts out as physical.

Idaeus doesn't trust easily, but over time trusts Hauyne. They develop a mutually beneficial physical relationship. Idaeus is Aro, but still becomes attached.

He and Solel stay only friends, which is good for both.

After becoming Deputy, Natsuki is abducted by a group of activists demanding change. Change that many agree with, even if they don't agree with the method of demands.

His main goal is to find his mother, alive. He must also balance secrets that could implode his life and the consequences of the people around him letting their ambitions run away and becoming everyone's problem.

Idaeus had helped Candamius establish their Preservation vocation. His adoptive mother will soon be the Deputy of Anunitum's Preservation and the rest of his family is ready to move back.

Missed a few days. I haven't made a Talithan cock-owning character who's straight, which I didn't realize until now. Most are some degree of bi/Pan. Therin and Pemphero only like other cock-holders. Idaeus has a strong preference towards them.

MC - Idaeus, the MC of the series, but not all of the novels

Pemphero - They're in all the novels, a quirky character that my alpha readers really like, also an investigator which I'll need as a POV

Ever - to bring the series full circle and show antag info the readers get without a third POV

Broken Mist takes place in Talitha Harbor, a planet named after the colony ship.

I wanted to imagine humanity with a do-over, so to speak. The planet was healthy and they could rewrite their society. Humans will still human, but without the mess that is our current planet.

Talitha Harbor has a small population. The entire human population is at 1.4 Million. So, with so few they can choose their environment. They all live in one of three cities and there's no plans to build one in a desert.

One of Mist's initial ideas, Zabuza and Haku (Naruto.) I wanted to explore the uncaring villain who comes to truly care. And the empathetic kid raised by the villain.

Rade and Mist are layered and complicated. I am happy with where they ended up, and hope I do their story justice.

I only have one, maybe. An Ace character who is also, by our terms, transgender. She's in a world with no gender assigned at birth. She's been on hormone therapy for some time, but I have gone back and forth on the surgery question.

Going through the old manuscript and making notes for the re-write. I love this line, and this character.

Talitha Harbor doesn't have legal marriage.

Of my more important characters, Councillor Robert Foster has been in the longest committed relationship. He and Luna had a Union Ceremony. It's not a monogamous relationship and they argue a lot. But they still love each other.

The project I am revving up for is draft 3.0 of Broken Mist, the first novel of my Talitha Harbor series.

Mist is a thief, Marga an investigator. They live two very different lives and their worlds are about to crash together, for a second time.
