And that’s the energy we’re taking into Congress.
The party wants people who can fundraise.
But the people need someone who knows what they need.
I’m not here to be the party’s favorite, I’m here to be the people’s favorite.
Here’s the plan.
But it didn’t deter me.
I didn’t become a lawyer to make dollars, I became one to make change.
I’ve fought and won for tens of thousands of families and children in VA by expanding SNAP and free school meals.
We increased TANF cash assistance by historic amounts twice.
Repealed racist laws.
I’ve grown up in poverty, benefiting from WIC and free school meals.
I ate peanut m&ms for breakfast while struggling through law school.
I made more money than my parents ever did and yet we still lived paycheck to paycheck.
The situation in our nation couldn’t be more dire. The Democratic Party doesn’t seem to understand what the people need because they’re clouded by what their mega donors want.
I’m not fogged up like that.
