Another Russian passenger aircraft with an emergency. This is getting to be a habit. Rossiya Airlines B737 SU6699/SDM6699 declared an emergency (squawk 7700) on a flight from Sochi to St P-Burg.

On 08 Aug Aviakon Tsitotrans Il-76TD CANDID RA-78765 flew from Baku AZE to Algiers DZA, departing and flying to Conakry GIN on 09 Aug. On 10 Aug it departed and is currently flying over BRA.

On 08 Aug Aviakon Tsitotrans Il-76TD CANDID RA-76842 departed Urumqi CHN and flew to Ekaterinburg RUS departing on 09 Aug and flying to Moscow. Tianjin – Urumqi – Ekaterinburg - Moscow.

On 09 Aug Tu-134AK CRUSTY Airborne Command Post RA-65992 flew from Moscow (CKL) to Crimea. It would appear that there are more flights going there but perhaps not more flights, just flights being tracked. With recent attacks by drones on Crimea this could be to prevent a ‘friendly fire’ incident.

Military traffic to/from Kaliningrad for the end of July and beginning of August. Mostly not visible on FR24/Adsbexchange etc.

Traffic picking up this week with 14 arrivals so far, to compare with 6 last week.

I was thinking we might see flights supporting construction of the nuclear power plant that will be built in Ulken KAZ; however, there are no airports near, so the material for construction will have to arrive by rail or truck.

Does anyone see a contradiction here?

I have posted on this several times: A helicopter listed as being 'Mil Helicopters' pops up at multiple locations across RUS and BLR for a short time using the FCN EW601EP and Mode-S 1AFFFF (does not break). I am convinced these ‘flights’ are spoofed and the ‘spoofer’ may be in BLR (just a hunch).

Former Open Skies Tu-214ON RF-64519 64764 took off from Kazan and returned to Moscow. Not a very long day, but the crew should get a few hours of crew rest and as they landed at Kazan they might even get TDY pay or per diem.

SFS An-148 RA-61713 appears to again be flying to Crimea as it did on 04 Aug and could also be going to Saki Airbase. I commented at the time that I thought the flight might be connected with an attack by drones at the airbase the night before, but perhaps not.

I am not showing Ural Airlines A321 RA-73792 as having landed at Sochi and it is not listed as being on the ground so I do not know what happened other than the aircraft was squawking 7700.
