I love these orchids! Three years ago I was lucky enough to go on a swamp walk in the Fakahatchee Strand of the Everglades in southwest Florida where we saw these amazing orchids blooming in their native habitat.

Orchid expert Dr. Martin Motes lives nearby in the Miami area. His orchid house sells a lot of what are now called Papilionandas or 1/4 teretes. As I understand it,the full-terete leaves are almost round, pencil-like. The 1/4's are slightly open, tight-v-shaped. www.motesorchids.com/fogblog/2016...
