We need to go for another centre back anyway. We wanted Guehi (who realistically isn't the best option as he's not aerially dominant), so we should go for another. Ideally they'd be one that can play in full back positions too like Gomez but either way it would allow us to play Gomez more!

We won't get anywhere near title challengers without more height as well as intensity. Intensity will help with transitions so agree that's another priority but height will stop set piece weakness. We need both but we have answers for intensity if we shift Wirtz to LW. Last year's midfield was fine!

Still have hope Kerkez can work out because I think you can accommodate one smaller full back especially if you moved Wirtz to LW long term and had a more solid midfield. Id be doing that and playing Gomez at right back until Jan when we need to buy one of these big CB/FB types

Not tall and physical enough to cope with an even more physical and direct league this year. We need to recruit 2 big versatile centre backs that can play across the back 4 and accept Frimpong is for the right wing and Bradley is for the transfer list

I feel like number 2 is one that deserves far more attention/is more likely an issue

Why not get a defensive right back with height? It seems obvious to me to evolve and retain balance

We've lost one of our best players in Trent and have resorted to playing his back up who is defensively suspect and has lost his mojo going forward. We could never replace Trent and we want to accommodate Wirtz (who's short and more offensive) and retain Salah who doesn't track back.

Case in point. If we'd signed someone more in keeping with the rest of the team they should be on the pitch!

Maybe we shouldn't have signed the shortest right back on earth and should have brought in some defensive players with height. A lot of our issues now seem to stem back to our exciting shiny transfer window that in reality is extremely unbalanced

Can't help but think the signings really haven't helped Slot this season. Trying to fit them into the team is a nightmare and it's arguably not possible if we want balance. If this is Salah succession planning it might make sense but what do we do whilst he's still here? #lfc

Wirtz's last two performances have been by far his worst

It's been one of the worst performances I can remember from us as well. If we perform even half as well as we should then we might be able to come back in the second half

Not sure what this means for Ekitike after such a great start. Perhaps Slot will accept Isak needs a bit more rotation due to injury record? Or he won't and he will get injured meaning Ekitike gets minutes either way!

I don't think it will be moment gone with Guehi at all, unless we decide to move to other targets that become available. There's a good chance we could get him for half the price in Jan. If Chelsea wanted him and he was keen they would have happily paid what Palace wanted earlier this window

Honestly doubt he was pushing too much for the move. He seemed to not want to screw Palace over himself and can still get the move in Jan or the summer

Can't blame Palace for keeping hold of Guehi.. Glasner has undoubtedly done a great job for the fans by kicking off and keeping him. If we still want him and stump up the cash then there's a good chance we could bring him in in Jan for a smaller fee... Palace have 4 more months to replace. #lfc

Yep agreed that's the risk. Huge moment this for Palace though. He's their captain and it's the best manager they've had

All hinges on Glasner's influence which probably relates to how likely he is to walk away at the end of the season. If I was him I'd be walking if they sanction it without a replacement this late in the window. Shit show all round for the palace board/recruitment team

That gives the newcomers time to settle and they still get a fee. Seems a compromise everyone will accept. With Isak I'd be surprised if we hadn't already settled on a fee. They've moved so fast with Woltemade, they know he's off and we are willing to pay an amount they'll take.

I don't know. He's got a lock of stock at palace at the moment and he was adamant he must stay. I don't think his stance will change with replacements and Guehis the captain and clearly isn't agitating for a move. He's happy to wait it out. I reckon we get him in Jan for a slightly lower fee

Isak is probably pretty much done I reckon. Can't see Guehi moving this window after Glasners comments.. but in reality who knows!
