It's a shit show for everyone, and so needless.

This is very cool, Ethan. Question for you. Do you ever do live agentic coding with your students to demonstrate what's possible? Has that worked its way into your curriculum?

Classless, boorish.

RIP to those service men and women. Tragic for their families.

Under-resourced public sector orgs can now have rich and maintained data assets. Experiences are going to get less fractured - saving a lot of time for the public. Such a great unlock 4/4

Collection, cleanup, normalization, maintenance.. these all required “IT” or data specialists, but now it’s an agentic workflow. The skills and cost constraints have all but disappeared. /3

Public services are particularly fragmented - across websites, PDFs, etc not because of bad design, but because maintaining complete, current data is expensive. So you get a bit here, go elsewhere for the rest. It wastes public’s time. /2

One underappreciated unlock from agentic AI coding is that the labour cost of maintaining high-quality data has collapsed. And this changes more than you’d think. 1/

Every time I see reports like this, I get my hopes up that the 'temporarily embarrassed millionaire' fallacy is finally dead, but sadly no, that aspirational delusion is one helluva drug.

TL:DR

LoRAs turn context into perpetual intelligence, distilling expertise into AI weights. Risks: hijacking, govt access, and ownership. If employers own your professional LoRA, they can clone your senior expertise for agents/Jrs, dropping your market value to zero. It’s total knowledge capture.

Linear and broadcast TV is dead and JO and others will move to YouTube and offer a DTC product. Have no fear.

Perfidious is one of those words that when I see it in the wild I nod in delight!

She’s engaging in government for clicks, not for people.

Even if true, automation is everywhere - robotics accelerating, dark factories, etc. Taken at face value, this at best means flat employment manufacturing sector-wide. At worst, employment numbers decline while output grow.
