A large outlying stone sits in the centre of the picture with three others in the background. The remains of the circle cairn can just be seen in the grassland.

Lagmore West, the remains of a #ClavaCairn near the confluence of the rivers Avon & Spey. Two other #ClavaCairns lie close by .. #TombTuesday

Torbreck; a circle, SW of Inverness, with nine almost evenly spaced monoliths with the largest at 1.2m #StandingStoneSunday .... The southern R Ness catchment has the remains of five #ClavaCairns & this one circle.

To the front right of the picture is the 2.65 metre high outlying stone. The mid distance is filled with the outer circle of stones that formed the edge of the large, 32m diameter, burial cairn that once sat here.

There are thought to be about 50 #ClavaCairn style tombs within 80km of Inverness; Delfour, SW of Aviemore, built so ‘it is orientated to point SW where the sun would set at midwinter’ #TombTuesday
