ATOMIC POP OFF MOMENT I think I hurt my throat
it's actually kinda impressive as a first effort for a studio with no rally experience. especially as a return for the license after 5 years.
the driving itself is satisfying, the stage design is good, the co-driver calls are reliable. all the stuff that irked me in the evolution rally games in terms of actually playing the game is correct right out the gate.
there's a ton of minor technical issues like extreme object pop-in and frame hitches when locked to 60fps. not even trying to be harsh on it because if my feeling is right and there was a tight time crunch to get it out, they focused the right things.
this is a good, solid rally game that isn't quite finished. i think this got rushed out to hit a contractual term because while it's there and playable and technically content complete there's a lot of trimming that's missing. there's no pomp when you finally win the WRC in the career mode.
