‘The abc has aired another interview riddled with falsehoods to deceive voters’
‘The crisis was reported as happening today –when, in fact it was several years ago – well before the Albanese Govt implemented the poverty-reduction measures’
Lies by omission

This is absolutely BRILLIANT.
The Finnish gov knows that educating its kids to critically think so they can understand the concept of actual fake news will protect its democracy.
The Aust gov needs to consider adding this type of leaning to the Aus curriculum.

According 2 ABS, electricity prices fell by 35.6%. The largest annual fall for the monthly Electricity series on record.
Rebates from fed Labor & state Labor govt in QLD had much to do with it.
Won’t hear anything about it on MSM - as they continue to bag Labor & run a coalition protection racket
When The Actual Fuck is this turnstile from Parliament to Private enterprise going to end ?
They're ALL at it.
We need, at the very least, a "cooling off" period, so bubbles of influence can burst.
We are outliers on this one.
Slack, as.
Every time people on the mainstream media pontificate about how terrible social media is, and its toxic influence, I wonder why they don't also mention ... the media.
I don't hear them calling for age verification to listen to cesspits on the radio. #QandA
😂 Let’s rewrite the headline to include context that allows for accuracy.
Conservatives join Bluesky, find themselves muted or blocked, cry about abuse and censorship
or
Conservatives shocked to learn that no-one is obliged to listen to their “free speech”
Enjoy the void.

As young as one-day-old calves are removed from their mothers and killed. But now there is a push to stop the practice.

Europe’s newest and most powerful #nuclear reactor – delivered more than a decade late and nearly four times over budget – is proving a headache for grid operators now it’s finally up and running
“Most politicians have a bit of a sense of responsibility, but not Alan. The power was for him, and there’s the hypocrisy, that he leveraged those people, loyal followers, to advocate for his wealthy mates, a bit like Donald Trump.”

The most surprising thing for me isn't anything about BlueSky itself. The functionality is entirely and deliberately Old Twitter. It's how much hostility and stupidity I normalised on X. It's like my nervous system and brain acclimatised to it. We can get used to anything; make sure you don't.
Congratulations @cathywilcox.bsky.social for picking up the Walkley for Cartoon Of The Year ♥️♥️♥️
The Victorian consumer watchdog alleges Spencer Porter, 25, accepted $1.3 million to build tiny homes but failed to supply them in a reasonable time.
How privatisation works (and Thames Water is just the latest example).
1. A government takes a national asset built up with taxpayers' money and the work of public servants over many years, and hands it, for a fraction of its value, to a private company.
2. In doing so, it creates a monopoly.

A terrific column from Jenna. Chapter and verse on how Jones and his acolytes ruled by fear…
As you take in the "shock horror, I can scarcely believe it!" #NewsCorpse headlines, remember one thing:
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰.
Some much-needed common sense from Sarah Hanson-Young!
I wish I was making this up, but the boss of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has given a speech where he admits that he acted with "apprehended bias" during the Robodebt non-investigation. As Bernard Keane and many others argue, Brereton has to resign www.crikey.com.au/2024/11/18/p...
I love the lack of overt toxicity and stupid, hateful people paying to scream the loudest on this site. At the same time, I'm uninterested in a place where we don't critique the horrid things done by purported left-wing parties like the Dems and ALP. We don't need another space that kills truth.
There is a great paradox in the pain of betrayal.
The body responds to betrayal as trauma.
The fear of future relationship betrayals keep the threat response system activated.
Yet relationships are the very thing that will heal your heart.
Businesses are arguing that accepting cash is too expensive and they shouldn’t be forced to…but businesses literally impose a levy on those who pay by card…maybe if they want people to use cards they should stop charging people to use cards www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...
