It's a cool art style don't get me wrong, and I'm sure the games are at least decent, but it's getting increasingly harder to tell these games apart by the day

Am i the only one that's starting to feel like Square-Enix's HD-2D games are about as common and same-y looking as the Nintendo 2D platformers of the Wii U/3DS era and the Sony "narrative-driven" action games that get remastered 2 years after their release?

I had more fun annoying my at-the-time friend by constantly stepping outside the area exits and forcing the countdown to change areas to reset than i did playing the actual game

Again, I haven't tried to engage with the game in at least half a decade at this point, but last time I tried, the dungeon design and pacing just absolutely did not click with me at all, even after making it past the first 4 dungeons.

There's definitely way worse games on this list, but in letting my personal bias win out...

I'm probably wayyy overdue for a reevaluation here to give the game another shot, but god, so much about that game's design just irritates me.
