i still struggle with the combat segments of gameplay, but i appreciate the fuck out of them existing

i really REALLY fuck with the way this story is being told

the walking around is fun, the overworld is fun i fucking love it GRRRAAHHHHH

genuinely none of my complaints really hold up anymore, i just completed episode 5, it was fucking phenomenal. a lot of the meta stuff i was confused about is making a lot more sense. the minigames have felt better now that i understood them more. beautiful game #unbeatable

the game has crashed softlocked through no fault of my own in three separate locations

finally back home after the holidays, played unbeatable some more and i realize that all my issues with the story mode are really just "my laptop is dogshit and keeps lagging during the gameplay and makes it way less fun"

especially the part near the end of the song where every difficulty of the chart gets rid of all syncopation and is just down beats for so so long, i cant explain why but that section in particular hits me like nothing else

forever now (unbeatable) consistently makes me very emotional while playing. it gets really stay on beat when there's tears in my eyes

everyone should play garbanzo quest btw. its a perfect platformer

the highway chase scene was p fun tho, still suffered from everything happening too fast and nothing being explained, but it's been the most fun in story mode so far. hoping there's more stuff like that as i continue

and none of the story mode minigames have been fun yet.

jumprope was somehow the most unclear thing ever, and very unresponsive, assembly line is fine to be unfun since its supposed to be, but its still unfun, prisonball just sucks, and fistfights are just a worse version of regular gameplay

also moving around is not satisfying, so when the majority of story mode is just walking to specified locations, it ends up feeling pretty unfun overall.

i think a lot of it comes down to just being thrown into most places too fast, and then not really explaining anything. im not sure where it is im trying to go most of the time, just told to go to a specific place, and then running in one direction hoping its that way

ive been massively confused at every step of story mode, even though there's basically nothing to do but progress the plot. somehow both extremely restrictive and unclear.

unbeatable arcade mode is the peak of all rhythm gaming, absurdly addicting and rewarding, the music is phenomenal, the challenges are silly. no notes, its perfect

then unbeatable story mode is just carried by its vibes and writing. none of the gameplay has felt good so far
