Sunday! I've been meaning to go since November. It's only one room, but the exhibition catalogue looks well worth picking up (I've ordered it)...

Granted myself a day off (Freelance Lyfe) and snuck down to Coventry to check out Leah Gordon's Monument to the Vanquished Peasant exhibition at the Herbert Gallery, championing the spirit of resistance against land enclosures in the English countryside 💪...

Now just one copy remaining, hurrah..!

It's fine enough, I wish it was all as good as the final 20 minutes or so...

Some of the street pursuit scenes striking for the sheer amount of litter strewn around! And yes I similarly enjoy this period of nicotine-stained gritty/grotty crime thriller..!

A mix of French Connection style drug busting toughness and pulpier Bondian stuff (the main baddie is played by From Russia with Love’s Vladek Sheybal, who at one point tries to kill our captured hero with headphones set to deadly max volume). As with Amsterdamned, the boat chase is the best bit...

Two films on the trot I’ve watched featuring an elaborate set piece speedboat chase through the canals of Amsterdam. This time it was British drug smuggling spy actioner PUPPET ON A CHAIN (1972). If anyone can suggest a third I'll watch that tomorrow...
