"I became very fascinated with the idea of the brain computer interface and what consequences that might bring to the world. And this is one of the reasons The Brain Show came up, so that people will have a chance to see some of the realisation of these ideas."

I’ve described Youssou’s voice as “liquid gold” and I think when he comes in singing on that track it’s just a fantastic moment.

‘In Your Eyes’ was the first thing that I’d recorded with Youssou and it was very important for that reason. It was around the time I was going to Africa and really getting inspired by a lot of the music I was hearing there, particularly rhythmically and vocally.

'We have an artwork created by Tomás Saraceno and twelve spiders who are credited with authorship on this. I think he's a really interesting artist that I think a lot of you would enjoy learning more about. Tomás heard the music and chose this image as something that he thought was appropriate.'

This week in February last year, the first band session for the o\i album was in full swing at Real World Studios.

"We've had two band sessions in the past year, so that's a good example that I'm really enjoying doing things at the moment, and they're playing magnificently."

'I'm working on a show with brain as the central core, and there are a number of songs that will be part of that project. This is one of those and it's a point in the narrative where we can both read thoughts and write thoughts.

This song, in many ways, even though it has one element that is old, is the newest song to be worked on and developed. There was an idea around ’95/96 called 'Sit' and there was something there that I always wanted to explore… there was one bit of guitar that David did, so I grabbed that...

I guess it was no surprise that Jane Goodall died working, she died in service.
One of the most extraordinary people I have ever met - so full of life, enthusiasm, good humour and passion for the conservation work she championed and absolutely determined to protect the planet and all of its species.
