I can see myself trying my hand at breeding leachies if I can get pure locality lines that I KNOW are true locality and not just "hobby" versions. there's lots of leachie breeders but basically no one doing that

Karoo Sand Snake (Psammophis notostictus), mildly venomous but harmless to humans.

A young monitor lizard is holding its head high and looking over some low green plants. The lizard is orange on the throat and belly and almost completely black on top of the head. The sides of the head and body as well as the front legs is both yellow and black in a mostly stripey pattern. The lizard is looking to the right in the picture.

🦎Young Asian water monitor (Varanus salvator).

Max size 321 cm (10'6"), but ~200 cm (6'7") is more common.

Found in India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

Considered Least Concern by the IUCN.

A lizard is sitting on a large reddish rock. The lizard is dark grey and yellowish. Many of its scales are spiked. The scales around the rear part of the head, the neck and the tail have especially prominent spikes. It is looking to the right of the camera.

Max. size ~40 cm (~15.7").

Found in grasslands in only three provinces in South Africa

I got to hold the dad and he was such a sweet chonk of a leachie. if mine turns out anything like him I will be SO happy 🦎

I've been looking for a pure Yate for a couple years now, but after talking with a few breeders I realized I kinda needed to give up on it; pure leachie localities are hard to come by in the first place and market price for Yate are $2k+ easily. can't justify that cost for a pet :/

NARBC was a success, sold everything I had with me AND I got my dream gecko!! Extremely happy with the day.

my goal is to walk out of NARBC having used only the money I make selling my stuff. I've already got about $400 guaranteed and I'm gonna try hard to sell the giant millis and brevicornis for...not dirt cheap. I'm not that desperate (yet)

A green snake is crawling on some branches. The throat and belly is whitish/light green. There is a dark line starting at the nostrils and ending just behind the eyes. The snake is looking to the right and slightly up in the picture.

🐍Red-tailed racer (Gonyosoma oxycephalum).

Max. size 240 cm (7'10").

Non-venomous.

Arboreal.

Eats birds, bats and lizards. In captivity they usually also eat rodents.

Found pretty much all over South East Asia.

Considered Least Concern by the IUCN.

still extremely excited about this, they are somehow more beautiful in person than in photos. even if this dude has some funky wings (didn't molt on a proper vertical surface, I think. added some taller cork pieces to hopefully prevent that)
