We had a warm AND sunny day today in Middle Tennessee after a week of rains and this Black Racer took the opportunity to come out and bask for a little bit! #herps 🐍

I can see myself trying my hand at breeding leachies if I can get pure locality lines that I KNOW are true locality and not just "hobby" versions. there's lots of leachie breeders but basically no one doing that

an adult male leachieanous gecko perched on a hand. he's extremely large with light pink banding down the body, split up by dark green streaks on a yellowish green background. small spots of black are in the pink bands, and his mouth and snout are predominantly yellow. several acrylic displays with baby leachies are in the background

I've been looking for a pure Yate for a couple years now, but after talking with a few breeders I realized I kinda needed to give up on it; pure leachie localities are hard to come by in the first place and market price for Yate are $2k+ easily. can't justify that cost for a pet :/

a leachieanous gecko in a clear deli cup labeled "Pair Y, 8/20/24". the gecko is a light pastel green, with light pink bars down the back and mottled darker green spots between the bars and scattered throughout the body.

the same gecko being held in a hand, now far more fired up. the pink bars are more saturated, and the rest of the body is streaked with dark green on a lighter green background. a food scale and contents of a plastic shoebox (lined with paper towel with a piece of cork bark, square water dish, and feeding cup) can be seen in the background.

the same gecko again now clinging to a black shirt. to the right is a printed logo partially cut off that says "colubrid" with a grey banded kingsnake and eastern kingsnake wrapped together.

NARBC was a success, sold everything I had with me AND I got my dream gecko!! Extremely happy with the day.

my goal is to walk out of NARBC having used only the money I make selling my stuff. I've already got about $400 guaranteed and I'm gonna try hard to sell the giant millis and brevicornis for...not dirt cheap. I'm not that desperate (yet)

yeahhh it's a hard choice but they make the most sense. I'm keeping 1.1 but I want to have more variety in the species I keep, and I have NO room left :/

I may try posting all 5 diones and seeing who folks are interested in. idk.

Red is a VERY high-quality flame diones (could even qualify as super flame) so I have a feeling he'll sell easy, but he's one I want to hold onto the most LOL

12.11.2025 14:30 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I have officially decided to try selling 3 of my diones but. idk which ones :(

I've also toyed with rehoming miss fortune a few times now, so I should probably try to do that too. she's strictly pet-only tho so that's gonna be more difficult I think

still extremely excited about this, they are somehow more beautiful in person than in photos. even if this dude has some funky wings (didn't molt on a proper vertical surface, I think. added some taller cork pieces to hopefully prevent that)
