I can't think of a treefrog I don't like...

A green frog is holding on to vertical plant stem. The frog is white around its mouth, orange on its belly and on the inside of the arms and legs. Fingers and toes are orange, green and blue. There are a number of green leaves to the left of the frog. The frog is looking slightly to the right of the camera.

🐸Black-webbed treefrog (Rhacophorus reinwardtii).

Found in China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Constructs foam nests above standing water.

Max size for males 5.3 cm (2.1"), for females 7.9 cm (3.1").

Considered Least Concern by the IUCN.

What an absolute beauty!

A green snake on top of a naked branch. It is in a somewhat defensive posture. It has a golden eyes with dark vertical pupils. The throat and belly of the snake are a lighter green than the sides and back. A bluish colour can be seen between the scales. The snake is looking to the left in this picture.

A black and white lizard is walking in fallen leaves among a few green plants. It has a high number of white scales. This gives them a spotted appearance. On the throat, belly and on the underside of the tail, these white scales are so numerous and so close together that they form white bands. The lizard is looking to the left in the picture.

Omnivorous.

This subspecies has a max. size of ~2.6 m (~8'6"), but is usually smaller. Females tend to be larger than males.

Found in rainforests in northeastern Queensland, Australia.

Ambush predator. At 5 cm (2") it has the longest fangs of any snake.

Well, that was exquisite. And I'd never heard of the composer nor the artist before.

May be part of a species complex of closely related species difficult to tell apart.

A mostly brown snake is curled up on the ground on a surface of grass and among some dried leaves. Around the lips and on the throat it is lighter brown. Judging by the eye colour and the colour of the body, the snake is probably getting close to shedding its skin. The snake is looking to the right in the picture.

Found from France and the UK in the west, across Scandinavia, Central Europe, Russia, Ukraine and all the way to north-western China and Mongolia.

Other tortoise post from a few minutes earlier deleted because I accidentally inserted another picture than I intended.

A tortoise is walking in grass towards the camera. It is black with yellowish spots on the carapace and a yellow plastron. There are dark orange spots on the legs and lighter orange spots on the head.

🐢Red-footed tortoise (Chelonoidis carbonarius).

Max carapace length over 50 cm (~19.7").

Omnivore, but eats mostly fruit, flowers and leaves.

Found on some Caribbean islands and from Panama to northern Argentina.
