Happy Mothers Day to the decent mum's out there. While my daughter treats my amazing wife to a special lunch, seemed like a good time to speak about autism and emotional impermanence, because I know a lot of autistic individuals can feel really bad about this, including myself, and why we shouldn't.

Every penny spent has made life worse for trans children & young people, for trans people in general.

Not one penny has been spent on making life better.

That's what you get in research processes where trans people are not even allowed in the room.

Engine failure and Belgium departures: the new era of small boat crossings
Migrants face journey times of up to 24 hours from new departure towns, with fears of more deaths in Channel

Telegraph so close to having a moment of clarity before it spins off. Longer journeys lead to more deaths. People aren't making them for fun. They have to because successive governments have failed to provide genuine alternatives. Labour is as much to blame for deaths in the channel as anyone else.

For some men, looksmaxxing has given them a rulebook on what makes a "successful male", and crucially, how to become one. One of the biggest influencers is Braden Peters, AKA Clavicular, a sharp-jawed 20-year-old known in looksmaxxing terms as "giga chad"; 10/10.

In his own vernacular, he "mogs" everyone he meets - he is so at the top of his game that he outshines everyone in his presence.

Clavicular attributes his looks to, among other things, taking testosterone from the age of 14 and smashing his jawbone with a hammer to supposedly reshape his lower face - neither of which is recommended by health professionals.

I'm sure Streeting and the gender critical brigade will be all over this. After all, if trans young people aren't allowed gender affirming hormones "for their own good" the same applies to the young "alpha bros" who, unlike trans individuals, are actually harming people

Very interesting podcast by @polphilpod.bsky.social with the awesome @danielsohege.bsky.social

Agree with many of the conclusions but
I suspect it will be easier to form a GRN-LD electoral pact than he thinks. With the exception of a few constituencies they are largely contesting different places

Folks, you didn't even know the Strait of Hormuz was important and thought the Iranian army fought with sticks and slingshots. I am not convinced this is the time to dumb down your military leadership.

A minor point in the grand scheme of Trump's unhinged approach to... everything, but saying it is "easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine or deliver a close range missile somewhere, does somewhat contradict his claim of destroying 100% or Iran's military capacity.

What I also find is people ignore I tend to comment on very specific areas, because those are the policy areas I know about and work on, predominately rights based e.g. migrants rights, trans rights etc, and on those areas of policy Labour is now to the right of previous Conservative governments.

As we discussed on @polphilpod.bsky.social, a lot of people will say by focusing on negatives of Labour's policies we don't give enough credence to the positive policies. Fair enough, I guess, but the positive policies don't remotely outweigh the negative ones and their impacts on people's lives.

Simply put, without migrants the system. Losing 21% of the NHS workforce, either via direct policies or creating an increased hostile environment, isn't going to help, but nor is losing £2.6 billion per year into funding the NHS. 5/5

All of this is a long-winded way to say Lam is trying to stoke resentment against migrants based on nothing. Yes, migration can increase usage of the NHS, however, this is more than offset by the double taxation migrants pay with IHS and the proportion of NHS workforce they make up. 4/5

No one was panicked then and no one is panicked now — this is a fake narrative that the media is peddling to sensationalise their stories,” says White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers. “The president and his entire energy team have had a game plan to stabilise the energy market since before the operation began.”

"and is this game plan in the room with us now?"
