One first step people should do to respond to this is start using the “report a speed trap” function in Apple Maps to report where ICE is operating. Make Apple party to the attempt to protect people.

Good thread. In deaf studies we talk a lot about deaf gain--benefits many deaf folks, esp. signing ones, enjoy as a result of our deafness. Stronger spatial awareness/ peripheral vision for sighted deaf ppl, and faster reflex times are some ex. Same applies to various disabilities & neurodiversity.

I thought my dad had been the mayor of several towns because of this 🥲

My dad used to make up stories about how he's save a town and they'd made him mayor, then he would make a bunch of terrible rules and they'd somehow fire him using 1 of said rules, and not only did I fully believe he'd been a mayor but I'm sure this is part of why I became a writer. This is so sad.

Poor kid. That would be so painful. Imagine they'll be surprised when the kid grows up and takes a big old break from them, too.
