We did this in our former home - gutted the entire main floor - including kitchen and bath - had to live in the basement for 3 months. At least when we got around to doing the basement, I had a finished main floor so it wasn’t quite as painful.
I should get one of these for each of my house painters 😂
The way I bitch and whine, one would think I’m painting the place by myself 😂
I’m too old for that shit now. I hire pros and complain about my life being inconvenienced for a week.
The previous owner of our home kept this place in immaculate condition. The yard, the appliances, the entire place was so well maintained. He really loved this house. He sunk $125k into gutting & renos.
But the flat white paint everywhere had me feeling like I lived in a dentist office 😂
I’m so looking forward to it being done. I’m not looking forward to moving all the furniture back, hanging all the art, reinstalling all the shades and draperies etc.
This seemed like a great idea before we had to do the work for the great idea 😂
Yeah there are some things I’m unwilling to share. My husband tops the list. I feel you.
We’re having the interior of our our house painted after living here 2.5 years (the previous owner painted the entire crib in stark white before he listed it which is smart but sterile).
The painters are excellent young men but I cannot wait for this hell to end cuz I don’t fuck with chaos 😩
Everything I know about European marriages I learned from Madonna’s “Truth or Dare” documentary, wherein she has the hots for a married Antonio Banderas, and has to explain to Sandra Bernhardt that Europeans are much more loosy goosey with the fidelity rules 😂
I’m just gonna dig out a sweater and knit that on it myself.
@marnipanas.bsky.social Something to cheer you; our girl is out in these interwebz streets kicking ass again and now we’re all gonna need this sweater 😭🫶
If Poilievre believes this “backroom deals” bs, he can topple Carney’s minority gov’t with a non-con, and force an election.
But he won’t. Because he knows the CPC will get absolutely walloped, lose a lot of seats, & Carney will emerge with a super majority.
Poilievre is a coward.

I would say the majority of her constituents disagree with you.
She’s won by 41 votes in a riding that is now surging Liberal. And it’s HER seat. This is how the Westminster Parliamentary system works.
He was already discussing crossing, the OLO got wind of it, & he was horrifically harassed, his family received death threats, & there was blackmail involved. So he said he’d just resign.
But Polievre told him he couldn’t resign until June, so Matt crossed the floor.
That’s on PP.
Well, her constituents obviously wanted something different. She’s been very clear that it was her constituents who pushed her to cross, the LPC has been surging in polling for her riding, and she listened to them, which is her job, after all.
I call Kikki Jr’s significant other their “lover” now. Just for the cringe factor.
Jeneroux managed to both shock me, and not surprise me at all.
Matt is a PC. He’s pure red tory. He was a Redford era MLA, and PCs under Redford were the most progressive conservatives Alberta ever elected. He barely won his riding, & it’s full red now.
I like Matt, too. He’s a good guy.
Her riding is currently surging Liberal, she only won by 41 votes, and she’s been talking about crossing the floor since January.
It’s far better for her constituents to have an MP in gov’t as opposed to sitting with a party that doesn’t even have official status anymore 🤷♀️
The NDP takes the north for granted much the same way the CPC takes Alberta for granted. She’s an indigenous woman from a small, far north community, where polling shows an LPC sweep were an election held tomorrow.
She’s done right by her constituents. The North gets ignored. Her riding won’t be.
“Backroom deals”?
What “backroom deals”?
Too many people throw that phrase around without any evidence to support it.
It was a very close finish between the NDP and LPC candidates, so I doubt her constituents will be troubled by her floorcrossing.
I mean it was VERY close.
CTV now reporting same.
Well that’s a big 😳
It would appear NDP MP Lori Idlout (Nunavut) has crossed the floor to the Liberals, as per a statement from NDP Leader Don Davies.
Now the Liberals only need 2 of the upcoming 3 by-elections to form a majority. #cdnpoli
And again, you’re missing the point.
Trudeau was PM when his approvals bottomed out, and he had led the party to 3 consecutive victories.
Poilievre lost an election that was an easy win, his own seat, and his polling is worse now than immediately after the election.
These aren’t comparable.
It’s not “skepticism”. It’s a misunderstanding of the terms “favourable, approval, net-approval”.
Net approval is approval - disapproval. Favourable is associated with polling that asks “who is your preferred PM”, which is different from “if an election were held tomorrow, how would you vote”.
Okay - which party, and when? Even the Liberals forced Trudeau out once they knew they’d get killed in the election if they didn’t.
Approval numbers and net favourability numbers are not the same thing. That’s what they are different.
Net is approval - disapproval. Carney’s approval is about 64%. His disapproval is 31 to 34. Net favourability is +30 to 33.
Poilievre’s current net is in the negatives.
It was an engineered vote. They held it the same weekend as the Ontario PC’s AGM, and then charged $1k a person for the privilege of voting in the leadership review.
In truth, he should’ve resigned when he lost the election AND his own seat. Like, who stays on as leader after that level of loss?!
It will be an absolute miracle if Poilievre is still leader come summer.
This is ridiculous. I’ve never seen a federal party cling so desperately to a leader who has been wholly rejected by the vast majority of voters.
He’s never going to be PM. The CPC will not win with Poilievre.
