Very happy to see this out in CPS! We study class identities and their social and political relevance over several decades in Britain, Denmark, Norway, and the US. A small thread:

Very proud to have been a part of this project and to see my first co-authored article out in the world! Read @jacobnyrup.bsky.social excellent thread for more info on the data! 🥳
Zambian politics have been quite dramatic in the last 20 years (timeline below). With that kind of competition, you’d expect MPs to fight to gain an edge in every arena, especially MPs elected on a thin margin. However, I find the opposite in Zambia’s parliament: doi.org/10.1080/1357...
Thanks!!
Thank you!!

Given the findings of this first paper, I’m looking forward to now studying the “real-life” effect of introducing a consent law on social norms and individual attitudes toward sexual consent. 5/
As mentioned above, sex without consent is now legally defined as rape in Norway. The government has stated that an aim of this legal reform is that attitudinal change will follow and contribute to reducing the prevalence of rape. 4/
Contrary to our pre-registered expectations, we found a small backlash effect: respondents, who had read information about proposed consent-based legal reform, attributed less importance to sexual consent. 3/
This June, Norway revised its rape legislation. Prior to this legal reform, we ran a survey experiment, where we held information about the current (at the time) coercion-based law constant and provided information about the proposal to include consent in the law to half of the respondents. 2/
Thrilled that the first paper in my PhD thesis “State Action and Moral Attitudes toward Sexual Consent”, co-authored with Francesca R. Jensenius and @oskorge.bsky.social , has been accepted for publication in the @thejop.bsky.social! 1/
