An intentionally destroyed #BronzeAge #sword found in a burial at Blaubeuren-Asch. Bronze Age weapons deposited in burials were often bent or hacked into pieces before placed into the grave, in this way they 'died' with the owner. Dating 9th century BC.

I have been WAITING for a journalist to write this story.

I specialize in manuscripts produced in England between 1300 and 1500. If this had occurred in the midst of writing my dissertation or first book, it would have exploded my career.

Writing a paper about Northern Israelite folklore in the Hebrew Bible. My professor would like me to include an explanation of how Northern Israelite traditions ended up in the (Judean) Hebrew Bible in the first place.

I don’t know? No one knows really? But look, there they are! It happened!

I will include a few of the more likely speculations. Personally, I’d say the Occam’s Razor answer is: “YHWH worship spread to Judah very early, while N. Israel was still around. When writing it down in 2nd Temple, Judeans had to edit/frame these stories in a more nationalist way.” But who knows?
