One thing that caught my attention as I was reporting this story is how everyone I talked to finished our call (or email exchange) by saying something like, "Thank you for writing about this."
To me, it shows how much this community still needs to be seen and listened.
Yesterday, we published this story about how trans students and their families are preparing for Trump's second term in office.
While most of the sources I interviewed expressed fear and disappointment, there was also a strong sense of community building.
