What does it feel like, as PM, to backpedal frantically away from an initial position of not being a panting lapdog, only to find that your master is rubbing your nose in his shit anyway?

This idea that trans people and gender nonconforming cis people are in some sense in conflict is just such an obvious contrived excuse for anti-trans sentiment that no-one remotely familiar with LGBTQ community culture could ever take seriously.

In the Venn diagram of "People who are against trans women" and "People who are genuinely OK with femme-presenting and -acting men", the overlap requires a microscope to see.

I can see where this is coming from, but there was in fact once an internet that wasn't just six monopoly companies herding you to shout at each other for clout. There was a time when google search took you to pages built by real people pursuing their real, personal interests. That happened.

🚨 86 organisations are calling for Prime Minister Keir Starmer to increase, not cut, UK climate finance πŸ’·

Cutting climate finance would be a massive betrayal of countries and communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis and of this government’s manifesto commitments to be a climate leader.

Setting aside the creepy (and not original, other companies do this) use of AI here to manufacture words from the dead, this framing also reinforces the Western belief that grief is something is to be cured, moved past, ended, with a terminal point of 'going back to how things were before.'

Hegseth knows that playing a tough guy on TV and gratuitously abusing reporters will make the Audience of One happy, but what he actually said in substantive terms was just word vomit. Trump himself was buffoonishly incoherent in interviews with reporters. 2/

Because she was working with a federal task force, she was considered a federal officer, and thus protected by SCOTUS rulings making it all but impossible to sue federal cops, even for egregious abuse.

Now consider what this means for Trump's immigration thugs.

Democrats had two years to fix this.

According to PEW, teens in households making under $75K are more likely to use chatbots for help with all or most schoolwork. I read a comment on another platform that said this is amazing news because we are "finally going to close the achievement gap." That is not how I would interpret this data.
