i feel like this is something that isn't talked about enough in women's OR trans-inclusive spaces and i really wish it was. bc even after the physical symptoms have disappeared, i'm still dealing with the psychological trauma it's caused in its wake. maybe one day i can be the one to do that.

i'm so fucking grateful that it's finally gone and it does not feel like an overexaggeration to say that it's been lifesaving. but i also have so much rage and resentment at my family, doctors, greater society for the constant dismissal and downplaying of my 15+ year suffering.

i started my period at 10 y/o and the worst of my pmdd started at around 15. i didn't even know what pmdd was until i was in my 20s and even now at 33, i'm self-diagnosed with no clinical diagnosis. i've had to deal with torturous monthly mood swings and physical sickness for over half of my life.

after almost one (1) year of FINALLY no longer having a period/cycle, i'm really starting to realize just how heavily pmdd affected my entire life.
