Mine have tons of toys as well, but go bonkers for Q-tips. No washcloth antics, but they also love throwing my knitting around... 🀣

Hey there! Have been off for a bit but wanted to be sure to "stop by" and say hello. Enjoy the lovely weather - those days are special! It should be nice here today, too - maybe will commute with the top down...

Hee!!!! I've delved around in my ancestry a bit, some semi-notable stuff but what I love most are the ancestors like stagecoach drivers and tugboat captains. Amazing to wonder what their lives were like, and how things ultimately led to us. Enjoy!!

Ugh. Having a similar sort of night w/not sleeping. If you open the toilet tank top, the chain might have come loose from the handle (ours does that a lot - it's old) or worst case could shut off the water valve to the tank until you get the plumber. Good luck & hoping for some Zzzzs!

I get that way on some pieces, too - even if they should be straightforward. Putting it aside helps get a fresh perspective on it; the more I work things if frustrated, the more mistakes I make and...yeah...

Excerpt from a public letter Roald Dahl wrote encouraging people to vaccinate their children.

Olivia, my eldest daughter, caught measles when she was seven years old. As the illness took its usual course I can remember reading to her often in bed and not feeling particularly alarmed about it. Then one morning, when she was well on the road to recovery, I was sitting on her bed showing her how to fashion little animals out of coloured pipe-cleaners, and when it came to her turn to make one herself, I noticed that her fingers and her mind were not working together and she couldn’t do anything.

β€œAre you feeling all right?” I asked her.

β€œI feel all sleepy,” she said.

In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead.

The measles had turned into a terrible thing called measles encephalitis and there was nothing the doctors could do to save her. That was twenty-four years ago in 1962, but even now, if a child with measles happens to develop the same deadly reaction from measles as Olivia did, there would still be nothing the doctors could do to help her.

On the other hand, there is today something that parents can do to make sure that this sort of tragedy does not happen to a child of theirs. They can insist that their child is immunized against measles. I was unable to do that for Olivia in 1962 because in those days a reliable measles vaccine had not been discovered. Today a good and safe vaccine is available to every family and all you have to do is to ask your doctor to administer it.

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

I thought "Good Thing," by the Fine Young Cannibals, was actually "Fruitcake." The song goes "Good Thing, where have you gone?" And I thought it was "Fruitcake! What have you done?"
Okay.
Just wanted to get that off my chest.

I actually like going to the office over the holidays. About 1/3 less traffic, can play music without disturbing my neighbors, have meeting-free concentrated drafting time and can still take stretch breaks to appreciate the view... #NYC #photography

On an AA flight that landed at JFK waiting for a gate. Two littles were crying because of their ear pain on landing. After a couple minutes the flight attendant started singing *Twinkle Twinkle little star’, the entire plane joined in, the kids stopped crying, and this is the world I wanna live in.
