Trump was totally wrong about how Iran would react to being bombed? You don’t say.
Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
It's raining cats and dogs in Hawaiʻi. I live along a hillside, and water accumulates in the back of the house. My neighbor has been running a loud pump 24/7, but I know physics and have been siphoning the water like magic for the last day. Gravity is free. 😎

@davidho.bsky.social is absolutely right. NCAR isn't just a great institution in its own right, but vital for all of us Earth scientists at universities and institutions across the country and around the world. To learn more, watch the video below. Write to NSF_NCAR@nsf.gov today and #SaveNCAR !
You can see @agu.org's letter to NSF to get an idea about why it's important to keep NCAR intact:

This should be the biggest weather and climate news on your radar today.
You can send an email today to say why dismantling NCAR is a bad idea for everyone: NSF_NCAR@nsf.gov
My latest for @science.org on the fraught future of NCAR as NSF's deadline nears. It can still go so many ways.

Done!
Oil isn’t getting through the Strait of Hormuz but sunlight and wind are.
This is potentially huge. A whistleblower reported that OMB officials proposed transferring NCAR’s space weather program to a private, for-profit company, violating NSF’s public comment period and statutory limits.
My bike commute to work has gotten so expensive since the war started. Just kidding, it's free.
It was, but it didn't work. Instead, it limits competition and mainly benefits a few large shipping companies. It has raised prices for consumers, especially in Hawaiʻi, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. By shrinking the fleet it was meant to protect, it increased truck traffic and CO₂ emissions.
Dismantling NCAR would undermine US national security, properity and health.

The climate impacts of fossil fuel CO₂ will last longer than nuclear waste.
Same goes for Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Senegal, Italy, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, and Japan. 🙃
Of all the good and bad things the Trump regime has done (just kidding there were no good things), DOGE will probably be the most destructive and we can’t ever let Elon Musk off the hook for that.
This is Nathan Cavanaugh, another DOGE staffer explaining how he flagged grants at NEH for "DEI" which would be reviewed for termination. 404 Media has reviewed hours of this footage and we'll have more soon.
