Why hundreds of people in L.A. are strapping cameras on their bodies to do chores AI and robotics companies need data on movements in the physical world. Some are paying gig workers to record themselves cooking dinner and doing laundry.

I’d like to wear one to a faculty meeting so a robot can replace me there.

It was, but it didn't work. Instead, it limits competition and mainly benefits a few large shipping companies. It has raised prices for consumers, especially in Hawaiʻi, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. By shrinking the fleet it was meant to protect, it increased truck traffic and CO₂ emissions.
