That said… I like the concept of Elaleth, but you’d need to give Blood Omen *and* Soul Reaver the FF7R treatment for her to truly fit into the series as a whole. Again, to say anything more is major spoiler territory.

Like yeah, her sex will be a big factor (regrettably; I was around when Umah was the fandom’s punching bag) but plot-wise I think a lot of people will take issue with her role in the story and how she factors into things.

I’m still mixed but no solid judgement yet.

Ehhhhhh, it’s a *lot* more complicated than that and I can assure you, it won’t be because she’s female. To say any more would be going into spoiler territory, though.

Protoframes need to go back on the shelf for several more years after the Devil’s Triad. I don’t want more pretty faces with barely any body horror anymore, not for a loooooong time.

One last thing: I could kinda hear Ben Starr as the Raziel in this comic but that isn’t a good thing, because TDSR!Raziel is the Great Value version.

If given the choice between The Dead Shall Rise and Dead Sun, I will take the former over the latter without question. There's no contest.

If they do go the route of a follow-up GN, I don't think they're going to make nearly as much as they did because of what I anticipate the reception being for this. Just a hunch.

fwiw, Elaleth has potential. There's no such thing as a bad character, only bad writing.

1st reading: Didn't love it, but I didn't hate it.

This is definitely going to evoke some strong reactions from certain corners of the internet and I am not looking forward to the potential fallout from it.

Definitely seems like they're setting up a new game, if not a continuation GN. Hmmm.

Also, I think they are trying to overcompensate for there not being enough lead females in the LoK series.

... Yeah, this is definitely going to require a couple more read-throughs before I can make a final judgement call on this one for sure.

Without spoiling anything (and I'm about 20 pages in), there's a feeling in my bones that this story will be VERY polarizing and not in the best way.

Definitely going to disrupt some headcanons, that's for sure.
