A lot is changing in our country. But one thing’s still true: we don’t have kings in America. Our future depends on the fierce decency of the many. This weekend reminded us—no matter where you are, you’re not alone. Let’s keep showing up and standing strong together.

The NY Times is a very high quality newspaper. Extraordinarily talented and rich in resources. But sometimes the high-level editors and management get on strange political obsessions. Like Hillary Clinton’s emails. Their commitment never to cover prominently any “No Kings” protest is astonishing.

Erez Reuveni was an attorney in DoJ who was so effective defending Trump's first-term immigration policy, that he was promoted right away in the second. But Reuveni's 15-year Justice Department career ended suddenly after he witnessed government lawyers lying in court and evading orders of a judge.

This story is extraordinary even by 2025 standards. Marco Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, made a deal with Bukele and agreed to renege on informant agreements in a years-long DOJ investigation into MS-13, totally undercutting credibility of such agreements.

In Dallas, Organizers Mourn the Immigrant Victims of Recent ICE Shooting At a vigil outside city hall last week, advocates gathered to “center the victims” and to condemn the “dehumanization” of migrants by the federal government.

Last week: Family members with loved ones detained at that Dallas field office reported inhumane conditions including overcrowding, medical neglect, and individuals being detained for more than a week without access to running water and air conditioning.

This is functionally a robbery of New York City and New York State taxpayers, who contribute billions more to the federal government annually than we get back.

Abbott Sent the Texas National Guard to San Antonio. Protesters Threw a Fiesta. The stage was set for a photo-worthy showdown at the Alamo. Instead, protesters marched to mariachi and conjunto music and lots of honking.

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas National Guard to Austin ahead of "No Kings" protests planned for this weekend.

This summer, the Texas National Guard's presence in San Antonio was met by a fiesta complete with mariachi and conjunto music.
