When you’re at a wildlife biology conference and someone tries to give you directions, “over by the woman in plaid…” you’re going to have to be more specific than that 💀
We'll say it again because certain people need to hear it: pay for federal workers accounts for just 4.3% of the budget.
If the federal government were to fire every single worker, it would only reduce government spending by less than 5%.
What DOGE is doing is just cruelty.
A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.
