NL should be thanking him, methinks! ๐ค๐๐
I don't know anyone who has a bad word to say about Geoff. Great guy, great curler, solid low drama guy with a sense of humour.
He'll be snapped up by a western team in a jiffy ... If he wants to keep playing at this level. ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐
Hair metal before there was hair metal? ๐ค The bassist was ahead of his time. ๐
On the 1st day of the Brier, I met Team Dunstone walking from the hotel to the arena. I wished them good luck and welcomed EJ back to St John's. I firmly believe this encouragement put them over the hump to win the #Brier2026. ๐
Great night for ๐จ๐ฆ #curling ๐ฅ
Poor Koe lost 1 game. ๐ฎ
Matt spoke really well indeed. I thought he might have been too overcome to speak, but not at all. EJ always gives a good natured interview on his later years. ๐
Nice applause for EJ during pregame intros. The crowd appreciation was nice.
Gallant was shown in the box with Gushue on the scoreboard. More crowd appreciation.
Good vibes. ๐๐

I'd love to see Matty win one ... He has paid his dues. And how great would it be to see the Hardens win one more. But ...
Koe is prob the best shot maker ever (and money in the big events - except Olympics!). So it would be nice for him to get one more. (5 Briers skipping 5 diff teams๐ฎ)
No, draws & hits have equal "value" (at least in the slam events I've done the stats for).
The tricky thing is for skips - if they try a draw on their last rock (e.g. to out draw an opponent's stone) and come an 1" short, then technically the shot is 0/4. I believe there is leniency with this tho.
If MB win this Semifinal, that triple by Lott in the 7th will be one of the main reasons why. ๐๐

When you get tired of listening to Team Jacobs over-caffeinated yak-yak-yak about their next ๐ฅ shot..... ๐

Brad vs Brad ๐ฅ was a treat. Basically a meaningless game, but extremely well played by both teams. Gushue picked up the win and brought down Jacobs crazy high hammer ๐จ efficiency %.
They will meet again yet methinks ....

Trump was calling Zelenskyy a "dictator" who "does not have the cards" in the Ukraine war just a year ago.
A steal of two, so to speak ... ๐ค
Great kid. Funny as heck too! ๐๐ฅ
A precarious win by NL (Young) over ON at the #Brier2026
NL scored a big 4 ender in the 3rd, but ON didn't go easy. Again, ON are so impressive with their shot making and poise in a noisy bldg.
Incredible experience for them.
He's like Spiderman! ๐ฎ๐ฅ
I didn't understand what he was trying to do...? Was there an explanation on the broadcast?
The shot making in the last 2 ends of that game was bad. But that call ... ? ๐ค
We met Austin at the Seniors a few years back ... And spot him on TV coverage fairly often. ๐๐

Anyone else notice Flasch's hair this morning looked like the Seinfeld water pressure episode? ๐

Still liking the usual suspects:
Jacobs
Dunstone
Koe (seems to be playing better)
McEwen / Gushue .... A toss up.
Would love to see Knapp, King, or Calvert sneak into the playoffs and scare the big guys. .... Or MacEwan too. ๐
His two (!) long angle raises in the 4th were incredible. It was loud in the building today (very pro-Gushue of course) & Team ON were again unflappable. Great poise. (Note: the crowd did indeed cheer ON's great shots.)
This team will hopefully figure in the future of ๐จ๐ฆ curling๐ฅ. ๐๐#Brier #Brier2026
Koe's hammer in the 9th. ๐คฏ
Koe doing Koe things .... #Brier ๐ฅ #brier2026
He (well, the team) made it look easy in his first two games. Big test coming against the Gooshe. The poise of the team in the loud building has been impressive. ๐
Good curling! ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Large day, but the wind is chilly.

For the first time ever, two teams from NL are undefeated in the Brier ๐ฅ. (Only Draw 1, but hey ... ๐)
#brier ๐ฅ Draw 1 thoughts:
1) good/loud attendance. Newbie players had to be a bit unsettled.
2) QC's Crete's broom snapping was quite something.
3) ON's Jayden King is really tall.
4) PEI and CA were 3 on 3. Smith has chances, but squandered them.
5) NU vs NL was really close, until it wasn't.
Much better ๐๐
