One of the first Haslabs. It was a life size posable replica. However it wasn't an actual puppet. Looked very cool but yeah didn't do well funding wise muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Cookie_...

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

This could go very badly for all involved.

Well it's over. Final tally is 1386/10k putting it at 13.86% funded. That officially makes it the second lowest backed quantity Haslab after Reva's Lightsaber with 1413, and the lowest percent backed with Cookie Monster beating it at 20.8%.

And this means Tron bombed twice this year. πŸ˜’

Entering the final stretch for the Tron Haslab & it's pretty dire. It would need 754 more backers to not be the lowest funding percentage one so far, & I'd be shocked if that happens. I have to wonder if doing a smaller cost & backer total with some parts made into stretch goals might have helped

It's shocking how bad it's done. Like yeah Tron has a smaller fanbase, but man I never expected it to be this bad. you'd think they'd at least dump in retailer preorder numbers to add a spike and give some hope, but I'm guessing retailers have seen how bad it's doing and none of them put in orders.

Ya'know, with the Tron Haslab doing as bad as it is, making het subject of an email on it "End of line" isn't the best choice. when I saw it I assumed they were ending it early instead of pushing a reminder there's three days left to back it.

Not showing off the 6" Tron Legacy line shortly after starting the Haslab up likely would have helped too.

Final week for the Tron Haslab. I forgot to check totals last week but that said it only 66 new backers since then, so not a big jump. Kinda wondering if any retailer preorder numbers will get dumped in, as you'd think they'd want people to see a big spike. It's gonna take a miracle at this point.

Apparently Bob's car could shoot the Delete Disks as projectiles. Beyond that, they seem to just be a little collectible extra included with each figure. youtu.be/TDNd3P2TzGI?...

I'll fully admit, I'm pretty bad as marketing so far, so trying to change that. Hopefully people don't mind me popping in an occasional eBay update when we get something vintage, rare, or kinda cool listed. These seem to check all three boxes I think.

Checking back in on the Tron Haslab and it looks like it picked up 27 backers. Really feels like they're gonna need to dump retailer orders in to help the numbers jump up. But with this doing so poorly, I wonder how big those numbers would even be. A little under 9k in 20 days is a tall order.

Heh, yeah was just a joke. But a Luchadore team could be fun to see. Mix some wrestling gimmicks in with the martial arts for some real wacky fun.

Been a little over a week, time for another look in on how the Tron Haslab goes. There is a little good news at least, it broke 10% funding. If it manages 1005 more and hits 2081, it will pass Cookie Monster and not be the lowest failed percent funded.

Add a dot, and you kinda sorta have a square Dalek wearing a necktie. Admittedly, it's a stretch since we all know Swindles in general prefer bolo ties.

Lets take another look at the Tron Haslab. Currently it's at 989 backers, up 136 since the 14th. That puts it at 9.89% funded. It's really not looking good. Makes me wonder if we might see them do something radical before it ends as it's pretty clear this would take a miracle to fund.

20.10.2025 01:55 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

Yeah it's a very odd choice. I can think of 2possibilities; smaller size is cheaper, so the cost is lower. The other is a bit more cynical. If the Haslab fails, they can recycle the sculpts as 6" ones, though reception might be sour. The Haslab itself is only for this size and accessories after all.

With the Tron Haslab not looking so hot, I was curious how it stacked up so far to the failed projects. Turns out it's passed Cookie Monster, so it's not going to be the lowest backed total at least. Still it's needs 2081 backers not be the lowest percent backed one, and it's got a long ways to go.

I can think of exactly one case where non-standard screws are used for a legit reason, and it's totally non tech related: McDonald's and other fast food toys. They typically use a triangular screwhead. They likely are used for safety reasons to keep kids from disassembling them.
