In the Universe of Dreamwave's G1 run, Optimus has the unique ability to sprout a giraffe-like neck whenever he pleases to.

Enemy has made no appearances in Dreamwave fiction.
You may be confusing him for Rumble or Frenzy, who feature in multiple books, including The War Within, and The Age of Wrath, alongside the large More than Meets the Eye Profile books.
